FAQ
Is beech wood safe for children?
The Rise&Shine crib is made of beech wood. Beech wood is a non-toxic wood that is known for its natural antimicrobial properties. It's durable, non-splintering, and free from harmful chemicals. Beech wood is actually known for being a natural gum soother for a teething baby!
Can my child climb out?
We designed the Rise&Shine crib with safety as our top priority, and our crib design exceeds the Consumer Product Safety Commission's standards.
There are two important standards that parents should know about as it pertains to cribs:
1. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) requires a 26 inch minimum distance from the top of the mattress to the top of the crib side rail. With a 6 inch crib mattress, the actual height of the crib side must be 20 inches. The Rise&Shine crib has a 40 inch distance from the top of the mattress to the top of crib rail. With a 6 inch mattress, the actual height of the crib side is 34 inches (+14 inches above standard). The distance from the bottom of the crib door to the top---by itself--surpasses the CSPC 20 inch standard by over 3 inches!
2. A parent should transition a child to a toddler bed before a child is 35 inches tall. When a child nears this height, the Rise&Shine crib can convert to the toddler bed using the smaller leg sizes, which are included in each crib purchase.
Regardless of the crib style, we recommend that parents use their best judgment for when their child is potentially able to exit the crib without assistance before they are 35 inches tall.
